Organization - The container store....

My hubby who is a neat freak person who loves things organized and neat is finally starting to rub off on me.

side note: we've been married for almost 3 years and dating/engaged for 4 years prior. Yes, I know, it took me like 7 years to get to this point!

Yes, I'm actually admitting that I need things more organized.

Yes, I'm actually admitting that my hubby is right.

And yes, I am actually admitting that I now have a wish list (and hopefully to be purchased soon as budget allows) at the container store! Who would have ever guessed that I would be drooling over pantry organizers, and on-the-door spice racks? Not me!

So I thought I'd share with you some things that will be in our house in the near future---or I hope will be!

The Spice Rack for on the door. We have a lovely area to put 2 or 3 of these awesome organizers. Yes, I'd like to completely redo my whole spice area just because it's always a headache to find what you need in the cupboard and put them back... I plan on getting all jars that are the same (the hubby is influencing me with the perfectionism) and make cute labels myself. We'll see how they turn out. I will have to make sure to have before and afters. ;)

In the same closet, I'd like to put up 1 or 2 of these Instant Mix Basket. This would be perfect for those pouches of Taco mixes/Onion soup mix. Then, I don't have to put them in my cupboard!

Now, I couldn't decide on which one I'd use. However, looking at the price difference and how many each can hold I think I would stick to getting the right one if I could fit it somewhere. The left one would fit in my tight spaces under the sink but it doesn't hold that many. Wow, such a dilemma! I'll just have to get back to you on this... ;) If I can get rid of all my saran wrap, bags, wax paper, etc out of a drawer, we could use it for something else! We only have 4 drawers in our kitchen and 1 drawer is full of this stuff... true story!

What a great way to store tea in the flip out bins organizer. I've been telling my hubby that I'd like to drink more tea... this may be the best way to organize them!

Who get's frustrated with their lids? I do, I do! This would be one solution.... with this lid organizer.

One of these has been on my radar for a long time. I'd love to put my olive oil in one of these. However, I can get them anywhere. ;)

Last but not least is the under the bed storage box. We may be changing up our room, so that we have space under the bed...

So let's get started on the organizing!

How do YOU organize your things? Any ideas that work for you?

Friend Makin' Monday

My first FMM! I have stumbled upon this website before, but didn't know much about FMM. Thanks for being an inspiration Kenz! :)

Here we go...

If you've taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you're new, please take a moment to answer this week's question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section of this post so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it's time for this week's topic!

FMM: Today I....

Today I felt...tired after a 2 mile walk (with dinner/ice cream in between!)

Today I saw....the infant I get to watch 2 days a week. :)

Today I ate...a chocolate Carmel Easter egg. It. was. delicious.

Today I kissed...my hubby & my dog Wenda.

Today I bought...some things on clearance! Easter candy (we don't get easter baskets anymore...), Easter decor and a shirt. Don't let this fool you though, I had coupons/giftcard that were just calling my name to go shop.

Today I heard...the crunching of sugar cubes while getting my sugar cinnamon bread ready to go!

Today I lost...my motivation to count my calories (obviously from what you gathered so far from above) he he

Today I decided...work on some lesson planning/preparing for school tomorrow! (I teach part time as a long term sub)

Today I need...to go to bed early... and, uh, well, 10:40 isn't exactly early enough... I guess I'll get there after this!

Today I wish...I had the mad skills to make my blog look awesome! Complete with cute font, fabulous header and other cute things. ;) Someday, I'll get there... maybe!

Food? Yes, please. ;)

So, to motivate myself to try out some new recipes, I thought I'd post 6 I'd like to try sometime! Looking at food makes me hungry, and if the recipes are easily accessed through the blog, it will motivate me more!

I mean, come on, who wants to be digging through MILLIONS of recipes online to find one to make 'right now'. Not me! It's all too intimidating! :)

So, food? Yes... please!!

Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Quick Bread from Picky Palate
Friday is typically pizza night, and my hubby doesn't looooovvveee pizza as much as I do (I know, he's crazy, right?). So, if I can try different recipes, I'm sure he'd appreciate that. ;)

Roasted Garlic in the Crockpot by A year of slowcooking
My mouth is seriously watering thinking about Garlic. I absolutely, hands down, love garlic! I've never tried roasted garlic, and I've heard it has a different taste. Seeing this recipe, thinking about garlic... is making me crave it. . . . . right. now.

Moving on...
Chicken and Spinach Alfredo Lasagna @ allrecipes
I've never been a huge fan of lasagna but I know that my hubby likes it. I previously have made this type of lasagna but I can't find the recipe! (of course!) I'm a big fan of spinach and I love chicken, so I think this will be good.

Cinnamon Coconut Loaf @ allrecipes
Yes, I have an obsession with pizza, garlic, pleasing my hubby [in terms of what I bake ;) ], and cinnamon--don't mock. I know, totally awesome combo, but I'm strange like that! ha ha Anyways, this bread looks delicious, and I want to get back into making/baking bread.

Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies @ evilshenanigans
CHOCOLATE!! Who is a happy camper with chocolate? Me, me, I am! Cream cheese is good too--ahhh, this looks so delicious!

Side note - wow, I'm so glad I didn't eat dinner (it's 8:45pm), I'm going through so many calories in one sitting just by looking!

chocolate chip cookie dough truffles @ the recipe girl
I think my hubby would like these more than the brownies... he loves cookie dough (more than pizza).

Spinach macaroni and cheese @ the recipe girl

Another favorite - Mac and cheese! Added vegetation and we're good to go! :)
Barbeque Chicken Pizza Braid @ for the love of cooking
Another variety of pizza for the hubby ;)

Bacon and Parmesan Pasta @ tasty kitchen blog
Due to couponing, I have lots of pasta to use up---all whole grain pasta, of course! This looks tasty, who loves bacon? We do!!

Butter Chicken @ tasty kitchen blog
Oh, because it's different. :)

Ok, that was totally more than 6 recipes... I think. So, those are a few that I've found that I'd like to make. (Yes, I've been sitting at the computer for 2 hours searching but that's unimportant...)

And, just for your information, I am still thinking about garlic.... (I may have to go sniff the garlic jar to get over the craving, ha ha!)

April Goals

I decided that I needed some goals in my life... so I took some time to think of the goals I wanted to accomplish in April.

I broke them down into categories, and here's my category list with a few goals:
*Exercise*
Walk Wenda at least 4 days out of the week
*Work*
Lesson plan ahead; finish resume; start applying for jobs!
*Play*
Do something fun with the hubby weekly (on purpose! aka planned)
*Eat*
Try a new recipe at least once a week
*Love*
Try to speak Josh's love language once (or more) a week! (He's acts of service... and apparently I'm finding out that doing the dishes or the laundry just doesn't cut it)
*Pray*
Pray everyday! Make it a priority!
*Read*
Find a book, and make the choice to read for an hour at least 2 times a week! (and no, my lesson plans/guides don't count)
*TV/Movies*
Limit to 1-2 hours a day (I love watching movies...)
*Money*
Keep with the budget; Start saving
*Decorate*
Put together a detailed idea for 1 room in 1 week; to build at least 1 thing by the end of the month.
*Dream*
Start a list of what to save up for!
*Crafts*
Make at least 1 crafty thing this month.

So, that's most of the list. :)

Anyways, I can cross one thing off for this week: a new recipe!

I was really craving a Lava Cake, so I found a recipe to make it.

The Ghiradelli Individual Chocolate Lave Cake recipe can be found here.

After dinner and dessert, Josh and I walked Wenda and then played in the back yard (without a leash!). She had so much energy... and enjoyed running in circles around me for 5 minutes straight!
