Ruffle Curtains?

I have been pondering for a while of what to do with our living room windows. Then I found this...

A ruffled shower curtain tutorial! Since we want to keep our living room neutral with pops of color, I thought maybe I could do simple white ruffled curtains...

Tutorial found here (and photo credit).

Looks like it could take me a day to get them finished... so, we'll see!

Cake Pops!

Apparently... cake pops are all the rage. So, being a crafting longing teacher too busy to craft, I decided it was time to try them! :)

I learned a few things along the way:
-Have lots of candy melts (2-3 bags)
-Get the technique down found:

-Sprinkles make things cuter with less work ;) ha ha!

Next time, I'm going to try to make something creative like these....
 This is from Bakerella!

So without further to do, here is how my cake pops turned out!

I WILL be grateful.

Do you have those days? Maybe that kind of week? or season?
That's where I'm at.

Lately it feels rainy and stormy in my life. I have my ups and downs but as I noticed yesterday while talking with my hubby, it feels like we are just standing still! People around us are getting different/new jobs, friends are starting families, and my emotional state is a roller coaster? Am I the only one out here that struggles?

What I love about the above picture is that it describes my current state: being in a storm and being grateful for today. Being grateful isn't always easy, especially when going through the storm. I think it's easy to take things for granted when things are going the way we want them to. I definitely need to order this print soon! :)

How do you remind yourself to be grateful and content?

Why 'Living life with Character'?

I know you are probably wondering, why Living life with Character?

Let's begin with us: my hubby and I. We are opposites which means we, on a daily basis, give each other a lot of grace (okay, I think he gives me more grace)! He is very organized, type A personality. He loves the details and getting things right the first time. He grew up with 3 older brothers in a military type family.
I on the other hand... grew up with 3 younger sisters, am disorganized (even though I desire to be organized), emotional, and the attitude of "well, if it gets done, it gets done". I have to remind the hubby to slow down while he reminds me to remember the details!

Yes, opposites do attract--and it definitely works! :) My hubby and I get along quite well.

The phrase "living with character" actually came from my husband. We were building something together (it could have been furniture or something) and I mentioned how it wasn't perfect. My dear husband who really does like things in order and could be considered a perfectionist says to me, "honey, we're living life with character so it doesn't matter". For him, that was a mouthful! :)

Our life is not as planned as what we want it to be nor is it as perfect as we thought our dreams would turn into. We've been married for 3 years and lets just say NOTHING is turning out like we had planned. We thought by now we'd have a 2 year old and maybe one on the way while working at our dream jobs. However, here we are... no kids, and no dream jobs (still trying to get one!). We know that God has blessed us even though it doesn't always feel like it.

We are just a boy and a girl trying to figure out where God wants us to go, and on the way we are living life with character!
